ICS allows you to set higher priority for one type of traffic compared to the other. For example, in order to make sure that overloading the channel with HTTP traffic does not create delays in IP telephony, you can reserve a part of the internet channel for VoIP packets.
For that you need to create a “bandwidth allocation” rule and specify the required bandwidth.
By ticking the option “reserve bandwidth from parent”, traffic defined in the rule can use more bandwidth than specified in the rule if the internet channel is free.
Setting the priority parameter allows traffic with higher priority to pass with less delay.
If necessary, the time period for priority can also be defined.
